Delicious and Nutritious – Hamburgers? Really?

guac and burger

well, they're not all totally healthy, either..

My nephew Dan is a man after my own heart (to an extent) in that he is pursuing his dreams as an entrepreneur and will be setting up a business at Artists And Fleas 125 N 6th St, Brooklyn. His business?  Glad you asked. That Burger Tent where he is cooking (grilling) his custom burger creations. He’s the owner and the chef and moved to New York City to pursue this passion of his. But here’s the kicker: I posted this on Facebook and Deb posted it, and she got a comment that the person was all about supporting an entrepreneur, but not unhealthy foods.

OK, I can understand if you are a vegetarian or some other meat avoiding member of our species (I don’t get it, but I understand it) and you don’t want to eat meat, but don’t immediately classify a burger as being unhealthy. There are extremely choice cuts of beef that cut processed to make gourmet burgers, and cooking on a grill (if you avoid charring) is about as healthy as you can get. So don’t judge a book by its’ cover and don’t judge the healthiness of a food by its name. Yes there are crappy fast food burgers that are as likely to be a knife in the heart as any food, but you can also get fast food that is fairly healthy, and “home cookin’ ” that is artery choking.

What have you been denying yourself that may be very healthy for you? Did you know you can freeze any probiotic natural yogurt after whipping it into a frenzy and get a healthy frozen treat? You can also make “freeze pops” out of natural flavorings and stevia and cool down in the summer (which regrettably is coming to a close)

There are healthy alternatives to nearly every type of food out there, so go ahead, eat.

By the way if you pass by Dan’s tent, tell him that I sent you. Thanks!

A Hamburger or not a hamburger, that is the question? Most of us all enjoy a burger now and again. The question is, are you going to try to enjoy a fast food burger and think that you have had a burger, or are you going to have a real burger and really enjoy the taste, texture, etc.
If you are going to enjoy a burger, go first class. if you happen to be in New York, then First Class can be found at 125 N 6th street in Brooklyn. Enjoy
